...You Can Either Pucker Up and Pout or Plant Them and Sit in the Shade!

For those of you who have not figured it out yet...life never goes according to plan...that is, your plan. Sometimes we are the cause of the deviation, but other times it just happens by circumstances, divine intervention, or from the work of the Enemy. I had a 50/50 experience today. I unfortunately slept through my alarm and I misread the bus schedule. Who knew the bus schedule was different on Sunday right?...LOL. I was so tired from not sleeping two nights ago and then walking around all day yesterday at Paphos with ~50lbs backpack. I probably walked ~6.5mi in 90+ degree heat. I was soaking wet and utterly exhausted. I have never walked and been so tired and have my feet sore, but it was probably the extra weight from my pack and the temperature.

Well, anyway, so I find myself missing the morning bus by a few minutes and so I have the rest of the day until the following morning to figure something out. So what do I do...I GO TO THE BEACH!! Yeah, that's right. :D It's time to swim in the Med some more...haha. The water was kind of cool, but once I got in it was great. Unfortunately, there are no real waves in Limassol. I should have swam at Paphos on the western coast where there were at least decent waves.

After swimming for awhile, I walked up and down the seaside all afternoon and into the evening. But, I was not alone because I had made some new friends while swimming. I met to young russian girls (Dasha and Anya) who were on vacation in Cyprus. They wanted to go to this ancient site down the road but by the time we found the bus it was after 6pm and the site was definitely not open any longer. The archaeological sites close promptly at 4:30pm or 5:00pm depending on who runs the site. I brought up my intended trip to Mt. Olympus the following day and the ladies said they were planning to do that too but did not know which bus to take. Since I knew the bus, we agreed to meet tomorrow morning at a designated location and would take the bus together.

Maybe this was the reason I missed the bus this morning....who knows.  ;)

God knew your well needed rest and the need the Russian girls had.

The BEACH!
The BEACH!
The beach extends for maybe a mile or so down the coast. This is just next to the harbor where it starts.

Why have pools beside the beach? It does not make any sense to me...lol.
